INBDE - For Getting Dentistry Licence in the US

The NBDE Part -1 and Part -2 have been replaced by the Integrated National Board Dental Examination, INBDE. For international dentists and dental graduates to get a licence for practising in the US, it is necessary to crack the INBDE exam.

The setting up of the new exam was started years ago in 2009 by the Junior Commission of National Dental Examination, JCNDE, and its administration began on August 1, 2020.

It is crucial to note that the INBDE exam is designed to reflect the changes that have been made in the curricula and instructional methods of dental schools.

INBDE Test Preparation

One of the most crucial things to know about INBDE is that the exam focuses more on testing the students based on questions that require combined knowledge of basic sciences, behavioural science, and clinical sciences.

The huge shift in the examination model from NBDE to INBDE has made it important for the students to learn about the pattern of the exam. But before moving on to that, take a quick bite of these important tips that can help you crack the INBDE exam.

Quick Tips to Pass the INBDE -

Patient Box - New Question Format

The new question format of the INBDE exam includes a patient box along with added information like radiograph, chart, lab report, or photo.

INBDE is a Pass or Fail type exam. The score is calculated on a scale of 49-99, where a candidate scoring 75 or above is marked pass.

INBDE Analysis

After reading about the exam pattern, you may have already understood that the INBDE exam is complex. It tests the cumulative knowledge of the applicants from different domains of dentistry, as mentioned in the previous section of this blog.

There is tough competition to get entry into US Dental Schools, and INBDE is the entrance for international dentists and dental graduates to find their way to becoming licensed dentistry practitioners in the United States.

What used to work for NBDE, rote learning now is not an option to clear the INBDE exam, and students need to thoroughly understand the topics involved in the syllabus.

But by choosing hard work and great learning content, any candidate can pass the INBDE.
